Friday, March 18, 6:30 p.m., Playhouse in the Park

Playhouse in the Park plans its second Playhouse Pride event, a celebratory event with the LGBTQ community.

The evening will center around a performance of Terrence McNally’s Tony-nominated play “Mothers and Sons,” with themes that resonate with all who have struggled with family and reconciliation.

A pre-show cocktail party (beginning at 6:30 p.m.), with food by Jeff Thomas Catering, and a post-show reception, will bookend the 8 p.m. performance. The after-show event will feature live music by the Cincinnati jazz band Young Lions.
Playhouse Pride is sponsored by David C. Herriman and Atkins & Pearce.

The event recognizes those who have worked on behalf of the LGBTQ community to advocate for equality and acceptance of all individuals.

This season, the Playhouse is partnering with GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. GLSEN’s mission is to ensure that every student is valued and treated with respect. GLSEN will receive a portion of proceeds from the Playhouse Pride event.

Admission is $90, which includes the pre-show party, best available seating for “Mothers and Sons” and the post-show reception. Reservation deadline is March 8.
