Dr. O’dell Owens is once again chairing the CET Action Auction, a major fundraiser for the public broadcast facility. The auction will be aired live from the CET studios.
To make it work, CET is soliciting auction items, sponsors, volunteers – and bidders, of course.
Proceeds from the auction provide funding that allows CET to serve more than 500,000 students and teachers and 2 million viewers with educational services and programming.
Among items that attract bids are tickets to local sports events , antiques, children’s items , jewelry , travel opportunities, sports memorabilia , restaurant gift certificates and themed baskets.
As a tasty incentive, LaRosa’s has donated food for auction volunteers for more than 30 years.
