Summerfair 2016, an outdoor fair featuring 300 artists, has put out the call for volunteers to work during the show. The event relies on 400 volunteers, with shifts averaging two hours. Volunteer roles include staffing admission gates, the Youth Arts area, poster and T-shirt sales, and hospitality. All volunteers receive free admission to the fair, free parking and bottled water during the shift.

Proceeds from Summerfair help fund grants to local nonprofits and arts groups to support art-related projects. Summerfair recently awarded 10 grants totaling $20,500. Recipients were Center for Independent Living Options, Collegium Cincinnati, Catacoustic Consort, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, MUSE Cincinnati Women’s Choir, Chamber Music Network of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Mariemont Players, Clermont Festival Chorale and Price Hill Will.
