The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is doing its part to recognize the significant impact philanthropy and nonprofits have on our community.
AFP’s annual luncheon, held on National Philanthropy Day, will honor those who have made Greater Cincinnati a better place. The theme this year is “Honoring Veterans,” and the luncheon will feature keynote speaker J.R. Martinez, a U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War.
Severely burned in the war when his Humvee ran over an IED, Martinez was hospitalized more than three years and endured multiple surgeries.
After treatment, he went on to appear in the daytime television show “All My Children.” His inspiring personal story gained wide acclaim during his winning turn on season 13 of ABC-TV’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Dean Gregory of Montgomery Inn is honorary chair for the luncheon.
Doors open at 11 a.m. In addition to lunch and the keynote speech, AFP will honor three individuals or groups in the categories of Philanthropist of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy.
Cost for the luncheon is $50 per person. Register here.
