CancerFree KIDS, a nonprofit committed to eliminating childhood cancer, hosted its fifth annual Night for the Fight fundraiser specifically for local high school students.
More than 1,300 students raised over $203,500 for pediatric cancer research at the event, held at the Cintas Center in early February. Keenan West, youth motivational speaker and emcee, helped inspire students to be advocates for cancer research. Last year’s event raised over $146,000.
Forty-six high schools, from Northern Kentucky to Oxford, were represented, which is 11 more than last year. Activities included cancer awareness sessions with personal sharing from childhood cancer survivors; donation by more than 80 students through Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths; entertainment from local bands; and activity and game rooms.
Lids Foundation was the presenting sponsor.
