It’s time for lunch with 1,500 friends in pink

Wednesday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m,-2:30 p.m. Duke Energy Convention Center

The Pink Ribbon Luncheon celebrates breast cancer survivors in a community of love and support.

Emceed by Cris Collinsworth, the annual luncheon typically draws up to 1,500 for pre-luncheon discussions, a silent auction and speakers or performers who “wow” the audience.

This time, it’s comedian Tom Papa, host of the award-winning podcast “Come to Papa,” regular guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and star of three hour-long specials on Amazon, Hulu and Netflix. He has toured with Jerry Seinfeld and appeared on the hit Comedy Central series, “Inside Amy Schumer.”

The day’s honoree is the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, which has raised millions of dollars. Maddie Spielman, the daughter of Stephanie Spielman, will accept the Power of Pink Award on behalf of the fund.

Honorary chairs of the luncheon are Bob and Suzi Brant, long time supporters who have been instrumental in the growth of the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund.

Attire is pink! A limited number of tickets remain. Tickets are $100. Proceeds will support the fight against breast cancer through the fund’s Pink Ribbon Programs.

The luncheon committee includes Karen Cassidy, Holly Collinsworth, Lori Daniels, Nancy Fehr, Ellen Knue, Carol O’Brien, Penny Pomeranz, Meggan Sulfsted and Lynnette Wyler.
