Saturday, Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m., Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church, Indian Hill

Get your American Girl doll fix at the Salvation Army Toy Shop Auxiliary’s 61st Annual Fundraiser & Doll Auction, featuring live and silent auctions and a boutique.

The live auction at 12:45 p.m. will be devoted exclusively to American Girl dolls with accessories and extra clothing. Thirteen packages will be available for viewing before the auction begins.

The silent auction, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 12:40 p.m., will feature a variety of gift items such as Playhouse in the Park tickets, two small T-shirt quilts (one Bengals, one Reds)  and tickets to Bengals games. The boutique will feature doll clothes, quilts and shoes.

Proceeds from the annual event fund the Toy Shop. Through it, more than 5,000 new books, selected by auxiliary members Pat Stewart and Eddy Wilson, will be given to needy children. Proceeds from this year’s auction will be used to purchase new dolls, toys and books for next year’s event.

A display will include more than 600 dolls dressed by volunteers. The dolls are among the thousands of toys the Salvation Army will distribute to children before Christmas.

Guests at the event can enjoy an afternoon of tea, coffee, homemade cookies and music by the Salvation Army brass ensemble, as well as a chance to shop for the holidays.

Admission and parking are free. Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted for the auction.
