Learning Through Art celebrates summer at zoo

Wednesday, July 18, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Cincinnati Zoo

Learning Through Art again is partnering with the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden to host the 13th annual Macy’s Kids, Cultures, Critters and Crafts Festival. The event regularly attracts more than 20,000 people.

Admission is $1 per person, which buys a day of entertainment at the festival. The event includes dance, music and hands-on interactive booths for all ages.

This year’s lineup will include performances by Madcap Puppets, Nasty Nati Brass Band and Cincinnati Baila. International Village will offer activities such as Passport Plaza and Kid Crafts Corner. Additional entertainment includes a samba parade, marionettes and puppets, storytelling, belly dancing, magicians, stilt walkers, jugglers, face painting, a vocal ensemble and cultural dance troupes.

Learning Through Art will partner with Metro to offer rides for 50 cents one way or $1 round-trip from anywhere on Route 46. Riders will enjoy live entertainment, featuring French guitarist Sylvan Archer and jazz violinist Ed Oxley.
