The latest addition to the MakerSpace at the downtown Main Library is an Espresso Book Machine, a high-speed, compact machine that automatically prints, binds and trims retail-quality paperback books.
With this bit of technology, library visitors can self-publish their own books or print content provided by OnDemand Books.
The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is the third in the United States to have a machine of this type.
“We are proud to provide the latest in cutting-edge technology to our customers, and pleased to be among the first public libraries to offer this service,” said Kimber L. Fender, director of the library.
The price of books varies depending on the setup.
