Most Valuable Kids celebrates decade of service

Friday, March 4, 6:30 p.m.; Mayerson JCC

Over the last decade, Most Valuable Kids has provided more than 100,000 experiences in sports and the arts to kids in need. The organization will mark 10 years of service with an anniversary celebration.

Founded locally by Sherri and Tedd Friedman, MVK Cincinnati directly impacts more than 90 nonprofit agencies that help underserved children. MVK’s rewards of donated tickets help inspire academic achievement and enhance social development.

Honorees will be Steven Frankel, Jennifer Jackson and John Thornton. Frankel, owner of Sugar n’ Spice, opens his restaurant monthly to provide MVK kids with pancake dinners, rubber ducks and fun. Jackson, a founding board member, was instrumental in helping launch MVK with its first fundraising events. Thornton, former Cincinnati Bengal and MVK board member, has connected a number of NFL players willing to host fundraising events for MVK and sponsor Thanksgiving Day meals for local families.

Special guests for  the celebration, will include Bob Herzog of Local 12, the Cincinnati Ballet and team mascots. Presenting sponsor is Katz Teller.

Tickets for the adults-only game night and dinner are $150. The festivities include dinner from Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Carlo & Johnny, KAZE, Funky’s Catering Events, Oriental Wok, Palomino and Montgomery Inn.
