The repertoire and guest artists for Summermusik 2016 will be announced at a free Classical Revolution concert event.
Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra board president Wes Needham and general manager LeAnne Anklan will be joined by CCO artistic advisor and assistant conductor Isaac Selya to introduce the concert lineup for the Aug.13-Sept. 1 festival.
A quartet of CCO musicians will play pieces that correlate with music that will be performed during Summermusik 2016. CCO principal violist Heidi Yenney is curating the launch event, and will talk about the music and composers who will be featured.
“We are thrilled to have Isaac and Heidi hosting our launch event,” said general manager LeAnne Anklan. “We actively embrace opportunities for CCO friends – old and new – to check out chamber music without the barrier of ticket prices. When the opportunity came up to partner again with Classical Revolution, we jumped at the chance to have an intimate, laid back announcement event where we can provide all fans of the CCO a chance to interact informally with the musicians.”
Summermusik 2016 will have added interest this year as it will showcase the talents of the remaining four CCO music director candidates. Conductor Kelly Kuo had his audition concert as part of Summermusik 2015. This summer audience members will enjoy the following conductors as they lead the orchestra: Daniel Meyer on Aug. 13, Christopher Zimmerman on Aug. 20, Sarah Ioannides on Aug. 27 and Eckart Preu on Sept. 1.
