The Civic Garden Center’s annual plant sale is all about greenery – both for visitors and the center, which hosts the sale as its largest fundraising event.

Each year on the first weekend in May, center insiders and friends converge on the grounds of the Hauck Botanic Garden to spend an entire weekend with plants and people in a festive atmosphere.

Originating in 1960 as a plant swap, the sale has grown to include a ticketed Friday night preview party, featuring food, wine, beer and a silent auction. The weekend-long plant sale draws lines of people as soon as the event begins.

Proceeds support the center’s wide-ranging programs.

Honorary chair is Debbie Oliver. Plant sale co-chairs are Chris Lippert and Halle Quinn.
