Planning is underway for a fundraiser to benefit Affordable Living by Episcopal Retirement Services. Susie Lame leads a committee of volunteers, along with staff from the ERS Fund Development team.
The group gathered recently to try out props for the evening’s classic movie-themed photo booth. Other plans for “It’s a Wonderful Life” include a gourmet dinner, balloon auction and a presentation honoring ERS board member Gates Smith.
Maureen Gregory, ERS donor relations manager, said, “We’re providing more than just shelter. We are in the business of changing lives. The residents of our Affordable Living communities are amazing people. They are resilient, hardworking and committed to their families. Each of our residents has a remarkable story to tell, and it is our privilege and honor to serve them.”
Gregory said one in four Ohio seniors lives in substandard housing.
“For every apartment that becomes available, there are 10 seniors who are qualified. There is a housing crisis, and ERS is making a difference.”
