Children’s Theatre opens new home to the community

Saturday, June 18, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, 4015 Red Bank Road

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati plans a family-friendly open house to introduce the community to its new quarters.

The $6.5 million facility offers more space for drama, vocal music and dance-specific studios for the growing TCT Academy performing arts classes.  A small 150-seat performance space is also a key component, along with a costume shop and expanded rehearsal space for MainStage productions and TCT On Tour shows. The company’s administrative offices are housed in the new facility as well.

TCT’s four professional, Broadway-style MainStage productions will continue to be performed in the Taft Theatre.

The open house will feature face painting, balloon animals, Snap Booth photos, games, character meet-and-greet, and tours of the new facility.

The schedule includes:

11:30 a.m. – STAR Cabaret performance

12:15 p.m. – Summer Day WorkShop

12:45 p.m. – Story time with Dorothy from Oz

1 p.m. – Shrek the Musical Jr. “Freak Flag” dance call

1:45 p.m. – Story time with Alice in Wonderland

Q102 will spin tunes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and register people to win a one-year YMCA membership. At the same time, guests can meet Bob Herzog, Local 12 news anchor and TCT MainStage star.

And visitors can enjoy ice cream compliments of Graeter’s and treats from 3 Sweet Girls Cupcakery (while they last).

That evening, an invitation-only VIP event will showcase the new state-of-the-art facility.
