This year’s Spring for the Stars Gala, surpassed previous fundraising and attendance records. Produced by St. Joseph Orphanage and emceed by Q102’s DJ Jon Jon, the May 5 event welcomed more than 400 people and brought in more than $213,000 – up 11 percent from the previous year.
The celebration sought to highlight St. Joseph’s work. The Fund-a-Need pledge, which benefited young adults in the Independent Living Services Program, netted an impressive $40,625.
Gala co-chairs were Tim and Barbara Stefl.
Sponsors included SC Ministry Foundation, Advanced Caulking, General Electric, Kroger and Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.
On a related note, upwards of 50 young people attended the May 3 prom on the the Anderson campus. Dresses and suits were donated by SJO staff and members of the community.
