Christ Hospital promotes heart health

The Christ Hospital wore its heart on its sleeve during the recent Step into the Future of Heart Care events at its new rooftop garden and sky deck.

Mike Keating, president and CEO, joined physicians Dean Kereiakes, Eugene Chung and Ian Sarembock and Rick Kammerer, president of The Christ Hospital Foundation, in sharing the hospital’s accomplishments in heart care and its vision for the future.

Kereiakes, medical director of the Lindner Research Center, spoke about the importance of research and the advancements the hospital has made since opening the center in 1988.

Chung and Sarembock introduced videos featuring the latest heart treatments, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, a life-saving option for individuals who cannot undergo open-heart surgery.

Kammerer spoke about philanthropy’s role in the heart program.

“Philanthropic investments from the community will help retain and recruit the most accomplished physicians to join the heart program, as well as to advance research, provide the latest technology and improve access to care for patients in need,” he said.
