Stepping Stones’ Bloom will serve up fine food, fun and love

For Deb Caley and Sam Scoggins, Stepping Stones’ annual Bloom has become an anniversary party of sorts. The husband-and-wife team trace their relationship to the 2007 event.

“We knew each other from Rotary but had never spent any time together,” Caley said. “We met at Bloom, and I danced the night away with my now-husband. We consider Bloom our anniversary event.”

Caley and Scoggins are food co-chairs for this year’s Bloom. More than 20 local restaurants and caterers are participating, including The Phoenix/The Presidents Room, Tano Bistro, Elegant Fare, The Delish Dish, Baracco Culinary, The Quarter Bistro, Funky’s Catering, Fusian, Taste of Belgium, Holtman’s Donuts, City BBQ and CrEATions By Melody.

The tented outdoor party, presented by Huntington Bank, includes dancing to music by Clueless, tapas dining and cocktails. A silent auction will feature getaways to boutique hotels and resorts, a private wine tasting for eight, a 20 Brix four-course dinner for four with wine pairings, and taste of fun with Gold Star cheese coneys for a year.

Bloom co-chairs are Kevin and Michelle Jones. Honorees are Beth and Doug Brendamour.
