Changes are afoot for the Madeira Farmers’ Market.
Manager Leah Berger is seeking a board of directors to ensure the longevity of the market as she transitions out of the role.
“I took on responsibility for the market in order to ultimately deliver it into the hands of the community,” Berger said. “Whether that be Madeira residents or customers from the larger Cincinnati region, we are looking for people who have a passion for local food, supporting small farmers and providing a community event that is fun for all ages.”
The market has an advisory board that deals with policy issues, but it seeks more involvement from market customers and local food enthusiasts. Board officer roles of president, secretary and treasurer are open, as well as member/volunteer roles.
The market will be open Thursdays in October from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church. From November to April, Thursday hours will be 3:30-6 p.m.
