Sunday, Oct. 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College
Once again, Jean-Robert and Annette Pfund-de Cavel invite the public to the eat.play.give Friends and Family SIDS Brunch. The 13th annual event will feature food and beverages from area restaurants and hands-on activities for children, as well as a silent auction.
Participants include Coffee Emporium, Daveed’s, Forno Osteria+Bar, French Crust Cafe, Happy Chicks Bakery, JR Table, Keystone Bar & Grill, Kroger, La Petite Pierre, Madisano’s Gelato & Sorbet, Maplewood Kitchen and Bar, Maribelle’s eat + drink, Meatball Kitchen, Metropole, Oriental Wok, Otto’s, Red Feather Kitchen, The Rookwood, Taste of Belgium and Vintner Select.
To add to the fun, the de Cavels will introduce their cookbook, “Love Brunch,” featuring brunch and cocktail beverages from 50 chefs with Cincinnati ties. When asked what they serve family and friends for brunch, they shared their favorites, which extend even to family recipes.
Ticket buyers will receive special pricing on the book. Each purchase directly benefits the de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation. “Love Brunch” will be available for pickup at the fundraiser or to ship beginning Oct. 17. Copies reserved for pickup can be signed by the chefs attending the brunch.
Tickets are $65 for adults, $40 for ages 12-20 and $20 for ages 5-12. Proceeds will help fund the foundation’s outreach programs, as well as research to eradicate SIDS.
