Thursday, Oct. 13, Queen City Club
Six students from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department will perform for the Cincinnati Symphony Club.
The performers will be 17-year-old violinist Kalla Ervin, 16-year-old pianist David Godar, 8-year-old violinist Mina Shen and a trio of brothers – violinists Anthony and Nathanial Dorsey with pianist Daniel Dorsey.
The club holds monthly luncheons from October through May, featuring recitals from outstanding musicians, often accomplished students. Its major fundraising event, the April Affair, takes place each spring.
Established in 1923, the club raises money for the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops Lollipop concerts, and for deserving music students and training organizations.
The Symphony Club now has 270 members and welcomes more. Suzanne Costandi of Hyde Park is the group’s newly elected president.
