The Visiting Nurse Association will update the community, key stakeholders and business partners on its 2015 results, VNA quality outcomes, and future initiatives during its annual meeting.
In addition, two health care providers will be honored for their contributions.
The VNA Today Award will be given to Dr. Jeff Schlaudecker, a board-certified family physician and geriatrician. He is an associate professor of family and community medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and serves as the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship program director and medical director of the Christ Hospital Acute Care for Elderly Unit. He was named to the Kautz Family Endowed Chair of Geriatric Medicine Education at UC in 2014. Schlaudecker is also a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine Geriatric Medicine Board, as well as a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Alzheimer’s Association.
The VNA Heart and Hands Award will go to Dr. Elizabeth Rabkin for hands-on, compassionate care that goes beyond standard protocol. She is associate adjunct professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and medical director for palliative care in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UC College of Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Medicine and American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
The VNA of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky provides health and personal services, as well as educational and wellness programs, to adults in their homes and in the community regardless of financial status.
