Luxottica employees provide vision screening for 30,000 students

Children who see better learn better.

In fact, 80 percent of learning is visual.

Yet, according to the American Optometric Association, one in four children in the U.S. has an undiagnosed vision program.

As school starts each fall, more than 1,000 Luxottica employees volunteer their time through OneSight to conduct vision screenings for 30,000 Greater Cincinnati students.

Through OneSight, employees from Luxottica Retail’s North American headquarters provide these screenings at more than 100 schools, ensuring all Cincinnati students have access to quality vision care.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to excel, and clear vision empowers students to perform up to twice as well in school,” said Mony Iyer, senior director of strategy at OneSight. “The importance of a vision screening at the start of the school year shouldn’t be underestimated. By ensuring students are able to see clearly, we are able remove a possible barrier to students reaching their full potential.”

Luxottica employees have helped nearly 400,000 Tri-State students since OneSight’s Community Vision Care program began in 1988.
