Two dozen artists converged on a soggy Devou Park for a day of creating art that would be auctioned later that day at a gala dinner to benefit programs at Behringer-Crawford Museum.
The 24th annual freshART fundraiser drew more than 250 guests.
Since freshART began in 1992, more than $600,000 has been raised, bringing educational and cultural activities to more than 270,000 Northern Kentucky children.
Three of the freshART artists were honored for their work by a panel of judges that included Candice van Loveren Geis, Morgan Rigaud, Cate Yellig Becker and Brad McCoombs. The blue ribbon went to Paula Risch Head, red to Ursula Brenner and white to Mary Beth Dowlin. The ribbons were accompanied by cash awards funded by the Patricia and William Applegarth Artists Excellence Award.
Event chairs were Carla Landon and Tara Johnson.
The evening, which also included a silent auction, was emceed by WKRC’s John Lomax.
