Friday, Nov. 18, VIP event: 6:30 p.m., main event: 8 p.m., Lunken Airport, Hangar 2
ArtWorks is celebrating a milestone birthday, and the public is invited to its “21 Candles” Birthday Bash – a colorful fundraiser full of fun, music and a few surprises.
The evening will feature festive 21st birthday libations and bites from eateries such as Coffee Emporium, Eli’s BBQ, Findlay Kitchen, Gold Star Chili, Jeff Thomas Catering, Madisono’s Gelato and Taste of Belgium. Colorful experiences will fill the night as guests enjoy live music by Pippi Eldora & The Prospects (with Amy McFarland) and local favorites DJ Mowgli and Fresh Funk.
Preceding the party, ArtWorks 21 Candles will host the return of the Secret ArtWorks art sale. Nearly 500 original works – created by local artists whose identities are kept secret until the piece has been selected – will be available in a new 8-inch-by-10-inch size. Through a partnership with The Red Door Project, guests can view the works of 21 local and globally renowned artists that will be featured as part of a special edition 21 Candles Art Auction. The Secret ArtWorks collection and the chance to bid are available online. Winners will be announced at the event.
Presented by PNC and sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, Thompson Hine, and Procter & Gamble, the event’s proceeds will benefit ArtWorks programming to employ and train local youth and creative professionals through public art programs. Co-chairs are Sheila and Tim Elsbrock, Heidi Mechley-Felton, Mike Felton, and Morgan and Eddie Rigaud.
Tickets are $50, $221 for VIP, which includes a Secret ArtWorks voucher.
