A new four-day festival will debut next fall, presented by some of the same folks who produced the popular Lumenocity events in Cincinnati.
The event, dubbed BLINK, is a light and art show. Set for Oct. 12-15, 2017, it will extend along the tracks of the Cincinnati Bell Connector from The Banks to Findlay Market. The light show will be programmed in four zones, with each zone featuring a range of experiences, from street-level sculptures to murals and live performances. Large-scale light projections will be cast on structures along the route.
BLINK will be directed by AGAR, organizer of Ubahn, the popular annual underground music festival; ArtWorks, known for its citywide mural program and major public art projects; and Brave Berlin, the folks behind Lumenocity. The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber will lead the operation of the event. The Haile Foundation is a founding sponsor of BLINK, which will cost an estimated $3 million to produce.
“BLINK will put Cincinnati on the map with this homegrown event to feature our arts and design community,” said Jill Meyer, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “Visitors to our downtown will be inspired and engaged by this new art form spotlighting our progressive city.”
