A record $66,000 was raised to support Melodic Connections at the eighth annual Greenhouse Rocks.
More than 130 people attended the celebration of music at Krohn Conservatory presented by Contemporary Cabinetry East and CE Power.
Proceeds will go toward Melodic Connections’ music in the schools program and toward helping the nonprofit music therapy-based organization recover from an August flood that destroyed its music studio.
“This record amount from Greenhouse Rock will help us continue to support special educators in implementing proven music therapy interventions in area classrooms and also prepare a permanent home where we can rebuild our programs in the studio and operate new and exciting programs in the community,” said executive director Betsey Zenk Nuseibeh.
Melodic Connections serves about 600 individuals with developmental disabilities through an adult conservatory program, after-school classes, music in special education classrooms and summer social skills camps.
