State Sen. Steve Wilson with honorees Kathy Atkinson, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco and Tony Woods
At its annual luncheon, Talbert House celebrated the achievements of the past year and honored three individuals. Paycor was presenting sponsor of the event at the Hyatt Regency.
The Ernest Talbert Award was presented to Deaconess Association, a diversified health-care holding company. Among its most visible and successful efforts are the Deaconess Health Check clinics.
The Agnes Seasongood Award went to Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco, Hamilton County coroner, for being a champion of important initiatives in the community, especially in regard to the opiate epidemic. She holds a board position with the Council on Child Abuse, a Talbert House affiliate.
The Community Service Award was given to Kathy Atkinson, education services director at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries. Atkinson has been on the forefront of issues that directly impact Talbert House clients related to quality employment, education and housing opportunities.
