Monday, March 18, 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m., Xavier University

Registration for the 2019 Refresh Your Soul Conference will open in mid-November. The annual event is staged by Parish Health Ministry.

The keynote speaker will be Kathryn Spink, author of The New York Times bestseller “Mother Teresa: An Authorized Biography.”

Spink, who was involved with Mother Teresa’s work for 17 years, has spoken internationally about the “Saint of Calcutta,” including an address at the United Nations Conference.

At Refresh Your Soul, Spink will explore Mother Teresa’s care of the poor, the sick and the dying; her compassion and respect for individual differences; her identification of the need to meet emotional and spiritual problems; and her emphasis on enabling people to die with dignity, surrounded by love.

Other speakers and their topics will include:

Rabbi Abie Ingber, founder and former executive director of the Center for Interfaith Community Engagement at Xavier University, “The Purpose of Life is a Life of Purpose.”

Leah Sarris, director of operations and executive chef for the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine in New Orleans, “Food as Medicine.”

Kay Frances, motivational humorist, author and family caregiver, “Aging with Zest and Vigor.”

A few seats for VIP luncheons featuring the speakers will be available for an additional $30 once registration opens.

The Refresh Your Soul conference is the primary fundraiser for the Parish Health Ministry program of Episcopal Retirement Services.
