Cincinnati Union Bethel will hold an inaugural fundraising event – an evening of fun and fashion inspired by the concept of what it means to be a strong woman.
“Launch the Line was inspired by the graduates of our award-winning Off the Streets program that partners with survivors of the traumas of human trafficking and drug addiction on their road to recovery,” said Beth Schwartz, president and CEO. “They dream of creating a line of Strong Woman branded clothing, and this event will be the first step in making their dream a reality.”
In addition to Off the Streets, Cincinnati Union Bethel operates the Anna Louise Inn and CUB Early Learning Academies. Cincinnati Scholar House is coming soon.
“The impact of our services reaches over 600 families each year, and we are focused on the biggest issues our Greater Cincinnati community faces — poverty, addiction and school readiness,” Schwartz said.
Asha Ama, a finalist on TV’s “Project Runway: Under the Gunn” and “Project Runway All-Stars,” will be a celebrity judge. Seven fashion designers will be matched in teams with a graduate from one of the CUB programs and a local “celebrity model.”
Each designer will create a Strong Woman-branded collection inspired by the graduate’s vision. The grand prize winner will be selected at the event.
Tickets are $75.
