DePaul Cristo Rey 1 of 8 new Hubbard’s Cupboard pantry sites

DePaul Cristo Rey High School is the latest home of a Hubbard’s Cupboard, a school-based pantry that provides free school supplies, hygiene products and healthy snacks to students and teachers.

Hubbard’s Cupboard is a collaboration between the nonprofits Crayons to Computers and the Sam Hubbard Foundation. While still a young partnership, the program has grown to 21 schools across the Greater Cincinnati region. That includes eight new schools this year. All of the participating schools are in counties served by Crayons to Computers, and each serve a majority of students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program.

DePaul Cristo Rey – a Catholic, college-preparatory high school in Cincinnati’s Clifton neighborhood – has a mission to provide quality education to young people who have the potential but limited financial means to go to college.

Program partners stocked DPCR’s “cupboard” in August for the start of school. They’ll restock it 20 times throughout the school year to ensure seamless support.

Crayons to Computers works to level the playing field in classrooms by helping teachers provide their students with the tools to succeed. Cincinnati Bengals player Sam Hubbard created his foundation in 2020 to increase equitable access to food, education and a healthy lifestyle across the region.
