Great Parks is teaming up Cohen Recycling for three electronics waste recycling events coming to different Hamilton County parks over the next three months.
Collecting e-waste at these events will divert toxic materials such as heavy metals away from landfills, from which they can find their way into watersheds and wildlife areas.
The upcoming e-waste recycling events will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays:
- Sept. 7 at Miami Whitewater Forest Harbor
- Oct. 12 at Woodland Mound
- Nov. 2 at Winton Woods Harbor
The full list of materials accepted material types is available on the Cohen website, and includes:
- Almost any item with a cord or that takes a cord
- Computers
- Cellphones
- DVD players
- Video game systems
- Telephones
- Remote controls
- Batteries
- Laptops
- Tablets
- Fax machines
- Keyboards
- Microwaves

There is no maximum number of items a person can drop off. Devices with a cathode ray tube, such as old televisions and flat screen TVs, require a $10 fee.
