Brisben Foundation’s rebrand aims to better reflect mission

The Patty Brisben Foundation is changing its name to better reflect its mission to advance women’s sexual health through education, research and advocacy.

Moving forward, the 19-year-old organization will be known as the Sexual Health Education Foundation for formal purposes. In most situations, it will go by the She+ Foundation.

“The rebranding to She+ Foundation reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and empowerment,” said Patty Brisben, the organization’s founder. She described the new name as symbolizing the organization’s “dedication to supporting all women, and providing the tools, knowledge, and safe spaces necessary to prioritize women’s sexual health.”

As part of the rebrand, She+ Foundation aims to further build a supportive community “where women can connect with experts and peers,” according to a release. The organization noted that women’s sexual health doesn’t discriminate based on race, religion, geography or socioeconomic status. It also stressed the need to support “severely underfunded” women’s health initiatives.

Brisben said the She+ Foundation will continue its work to fill those gaps through fundraising, advocacy and education efforts. In its two decades in operations, the organization has raised $7.5 million for those causes.

As part of the rebrand, the foundation has created an online resource hub for “all things related to women’s sexual health.” The site offers resources, including articles, research findings, resources and educational materials designed to empower women with the information they need.

“Our vision is a world where every woman has access to the knowledge and care she needs for a healthy and fulfilling life,” the release said.
