Summerfair Cincinnati is seeking a unique design to serve as the visual icon for its 2025 fine arts and craft festival.
Every year, artists from the Greater Cincinnati area submit concepts to become the official poster, which is the cornerstone of Summerfair’s advertising and public relations program. The winning artist will receive a $3,000 prize and their piece will become the focal point of the event’s marketing campaign.
To be eligible, the artist must be at least 18 years old and live within a 75-mile radius of downtown Cincinnati. The custom piece can come in any medium, including pastels, oils, gouache or full-color photos and prints. The key is to design something versatile that the Summerfair team can adapt for various applications, such as the program cover, billboards, digital and print ads, and merchandise such T-shirts and tote bags. Additionally, the final artwork must be available in a high-resolution digital format.
The deadline for entries is Saturday, Jan. 11.
In January, a panel of judges will review all submissions and select three or four designs to present to Summerfair Cincinnati’s membership. They’ll then vote for the winner.
Summerfair 2025 will take place on May 31-June 1 at the former Coney Island amusement park site. Over 300 artists from the U.S. and Canada will showcase and sell their creations. There will also be a variety of entertainment options, including food, music, and hands-on art activities.
