Great Parks and Cohen Recycling are teaming up again this year to help residents safely dispose of old, unwanted Christmas and holiday lights.
Through Feb. 1, 2025, residents can drop off lights at six designated park locations in Hamilton County:
- Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve – Ellenwood Nature Barn
- Glenwood Gardens – Gatehouse
- Miami Whitewater Forest – Visitor Center
- Sharon Woods – Sharon Centre
- Winton Woods – Winton Centre, front and side lobbies
- Woodland Mound – Breezy Point Pavilion
Both LED and traditional string lights can be dropped in marked bins at the Great Parks sites. The collection is only for lights and their wiring components. Bags or boxes used to carry lights and other recyclable materials won’t be collected.
Now in its 11th year, Great Parks/Cohen Recycling holiday lights recycling program aims to divert dozens of pounds of hazardous e-waste from landfills and prevent toxic materials from entering soil and groundwater.
Residents have recycled more than 40 tons of holiday lights through the program since 2014.
