The Christ Hospital has ranked as the top hospital in Greater Cincinnati on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list. It also finished among the best in Ohio for the seventh consecutive year.
Newsweek partnered with Statista Inc., a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, to compile the 2025 list. The annual rankings serve as a resource for patients making informed, data-driven decisions when choosing a hospital.
The Christ Hospital finished No. 84 this year out of more than 400 hospitals in the United States. The Mount Auburn-based medical facility placed sixth in Ohio, following Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic – Fairview Hospital, Ohio State University – Wexner Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic – Akron General. Cleveland Clinic was the No. 2 hospital in the U.S. for 2025.
The next highest-rated local hospitals were Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton (No. 150), St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital in Northern Kentucky (No. 175), University of Cincinnati Medical Center (No. 190), The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health (No. 236) and Good Samaritan Hospital (No. 286).

Newsweek and Statista evaluated hospitals using four data sources:
- Hospital recommendations from peers: An online survey of tens of thousands of doctors, health care professionals and hospital managers in 30 countries.
- Patient experience: Surveys measuring patient satisfaction with hospitalization.
- Hospital quality metrics: Medical indicators such as quality of care, hygiene measures, patient safety and wait times.
- PROMs implementation: A Statista online survey on the use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in hospitals.
These rankings didn’t include pediatric hospitals.
