Greater Cincinnati Foundation has appointed Sara Bolton as its new chief operating officer.
Bolton previously served as chief of staff, where she developed “data-driven strategies that strengthened the organization” and supported the launch of GCF’s next vision and business plan, according to the foundation. As COO, she will build on her previous work, oversee internal operations, and implement the organization’s new strategic plan.
Before joining GCF, Bolton was vice president of business services at AMEND Consulting. She also spent 11 years at the Health Collaborative, where she led a 22-person team, oversaw 35 member hospitals and managed a $19.5 million budget.
“Sara’s exceptional talent for cultivating a high-performing, results-driven organization has been a powerful asset to GCF,” said Matthew Randazzo, GCF’s president and CEO. “As we look to create a significant and sustained impact in our region over the next decade and beyond, Sara’s operational expertise and thought leadership will be critical in this work.”
Bolton, who joined GCF in January 2024, described her first year with the grant-making organization as “transformative.” In her expanded role at GCF, she said she looks forward to building on the foundation established through the strategic plan to help “build a region filled with endless possibilities, fair opportunities and remarkable vibrancy.”
“Our executive team has spent the past six months digging into strategy and aligning our organizational structure to bring it to life,” she said. “I am honored to be part of this important work.”
