The Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center is seeking nominations for its 2025 Upstander Awards, which honor individuals who use their character strengths to make a positive impact in their community.
The Upstander Awards recognize those who stand up for themselves and others, pursuing justice both great and small while inspiring others to do the same. Honorees may be individuals who lead community-wide service projects, stand up to bullying or take a stand against injustice. The Holocaust & Humanity Center highlights upstanders in its Humanity Gallery, showcasing those who have brought positive change to the Cincinnati region.

The application requires the nominee’s name, organizational affiliations, and a description of what makes them an upstander based on the Holocaust & Humanity Center’s definition. It also asks for the submitter to select from a list of qualities that best reflect their nominee.
Nominations are open through March 31.
Honorees will receive special recognition at the annual Upstander Awards ceremony, which will take place June 22 at Union Terminal.
As part of its monthlong celebration, the center will also host its annual Upstander 5K, Family Day & Volunteer Expo on June 29, also at Union Terminal. The event will feature live music, breakfast, family activities, and a pickleball tournament. Visitors can also experience a series of “upstander experiences” throughout the museums at Union Terminal.
