Joe Burrow Foundation, La Soupe expand partnership to Adams County

New financial support has enabled the Joe Burrow Foundation and La Soupe to expand their partnership to combat food insecurity in Ohio, adding regular food deliveries to Adams County.

Every other week, La Soupe’s team transforms rescued food into about 500 servings, delivering them to Peebles High School in Adams County. The effort will provide 11,440 additional meals annually to the community. Deliveries will be made in a refrigerated van funded by a grant from the Joe Burrow Foundation.

Beyond chef-prepared meals, La Soupe will transport about 200 pounds of food per trip, including dairy, vegetables and dry goods for local distribution.

This expansion is made possible by support from Northwestern Mutual and its managing partner, Shawn Kelley who is an Adams County resident.

The Joe Burrow Foundation and La Soupe have worked together for more than a year, delivering 178,254 servings of food to Greater Cincinnati and Athens, Ohio. The expansion into Peebles and Adams County highlights what the nonprofits described as their joint commitment to addressing food insecurity in Appalachia, where access to fresh food is often limited.

The Joe Burrow Foundation plans to continue the delivery program through the 2024-25 school year.
