Hard Rock dessert raises money for Reds Community Fund

A new dessert is turning sweet cravings into support for local youth sports.

Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati has launched a limited-edition Reds-themed dessert to benefit the Reds Community Fund, which supports youth baseball and softball programs across Greater Cincinnati.

The charitable arm of the Cincinnati Reds provides underserved youth with access to leagues, training clinics, educational programming and renovated playing fields. Since its founding in 2001, the organization has impacted tens of thousands of children across the region.

Twenty percent of proceeds from the dessert – available at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood inside the casino – will go directly to the nonprofit.

“We wanted to create a dessert that hits home for Reds fans – something playful, nostalgic and rooted in Cincinnati pride,” said Melissa Luong, pastry chef at Council Oak. “Knowing that it also supports the Reds Community Fund makes it even sweeter.”

The handcrafted treat, styled to resemble a trio of baseballs, is made of white chocolate with colored stitching to indicate rotating flavors, such as strawberry shortcake, lemon curd mousse and Oreo chocolate mousse. Each sits atop chocolate cake crumbs designed to mimic infield dirt.

Flavors will rotate throughout the baseball season and are available for a limited time.
