Aviatra Accelerators has launched a new program to help women artists strengthen their business skills and build more sustainable careers.
The “Profitability Blueprint for Women Artists” focuses on the business side of creative work, offering guidance on pricing, marketing and financial planning. The four-week course features a lineup of experienced presenters. The upcoming session this August includes gallery owner Litsa Spanos, artist and nonprofit director Sheryl Woodhouse and Alandes Powell, executive director of Black Art Speaks.
“This program is about inspiring confidence among women artists by equipping them with the mindset, knowledge and resources to earn the value their art deserves,” said Jill Morenz, president and CEO of Aviatra, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs. “It was created specifically for women artists in response to a growing need for practical tools and guidance that support both their creative work and financial well-being.”
Program sessions are Tuesday evenings in August from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Aviatra Incubator, 112 W. Pike St. in Covington. Each weekly session will explore a key topic:
- Mindset and Inspiration: Developing confidence and identifying as a professional artist.
- Processes and Production: Building essential business systems and managing time effectively.
- Pricing and Financials: Setting prices, diversifying income and tracking finances.
- Marketplace and Marketing: Growing an audience and promoting work across channels.
Things wrap up with an art show and sale during the weekend of Sept. 5 at Aviatra’s pop-up retail space.
Registration is $445 through July 18 or $495 afterward, with payment plan options available.
