Best Point names new medical director

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health and its subsidiary, Butler Behavioral Health, have appointed Dr. Daniel Weis as medical director.

Weis, a psychiatrist with more than two decades of experience in child, adolescent and adult care, has worked extensively in the region, including 10 years with St. Aloysius, which later became part of Best Point, and the past decade with Butler Behavioral Health. His career also includes more than 20 years as a psychiatrist in the U.S. Navy and clinical leadership roles serving underserved populations.

“Dr. Weis has long been a trusted and respected voice in our community,” said John Banchy, president and CEO of Best Point. “His clinical expertise, compassionate approach, and deep understanding of the needs of individuals and families make him the ideal leader to guide our medical services into the future.”

Serving region’s mental health needs

Best Point provides education and behavioral health services to more than 19,000 people each year at 176 locations across the Tri-State area. Butler Behavioral Health serves more than 6,000 clients annually in Butler, Warren and Clinton counties. Together, the organizations offer programs ranging from autism services and school-based health care to community mental health clinics.

Randy Allman, president of Butler Behavioral Health, said Weis’s leadership will benefit the more than 3,500 patients served by the medical team.

Weis, a University of Cincinnati graduate, earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he was chief resident.

“I’m honored to step into this role and continue working alongside such dedicated teams,” Weis said. “Together, we have the opportunity to expand access, improve care coordination, and make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.”
