The Chatfield Edge has moved its headquarters from Brown County to Loveland, placing the nonprofit closer to most of the students it serves in southern Ohio.
The organization, formerly Chatfield College, closed as a community college in 2022 and reorganized as a nonprofit to continue helping first-generation and non-traditional students pursue education beyond high school. It does so by providing a range of free support, including financial assistance, professional guidance and personal encouragement.
Its students come from both rural and urban areas, pursuing career paths that range from traditional college degrees to trades such as HVAC and welding. Since 2023, The Chatfield Edge has assisted 87 students and awarded $187,000 in scholarships.

“Moving our headquarters to a more central location is the next step in our growth,” Executive Director Robert Elmore said of the move to Branch Hill Guinea Road. He said the new location will help the organization more efficiently reach the 65% of its students in Hamilton County while they “remain deeply connected to the rural communities and students in Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Highland and Warren” counties.
The nonprofit will continue meeting students in their communities and offering in-office appointments at both the new Loveland location and the Ursuline Archives building in Brown County. The Brown County site reflects the organization’s long-standing partnership with the Ursuline Sisters of Brown County, Elmore said.
