Greater Cincinnati Foundation is offering approximately $700,000 in grants to local organizations through its 2025 Building Bright Futures: Education cycle. Organizations must submit applications by Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m.
The foundation will award grants of up to $50,000 to programs that help children and young adults (prekindergarten through 12th grade) succeed academically and prepare for the future. Eligible initiatives include mentoring, tutoring, socio-emotional learning, college and career exploration, and other programs aimed at improving student outcomes.
Organizations can use the funding to launch new programs, expand or strengthen existing programs, make capital improvements, build organizational capacity, or support general operations. Funding will not cover campaigns or special events.
To apply, organizations must hold IRS-recognized tax-exempt status, typically 501(c)(3), or partner with a fiscal agent. Programs must operate in the Greater Cincinnati region, which includes Hamilton, Butler, Warren, and Clermont counties in Ohio; Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County, Indiana.
GCF will hold a virtual grant workshop on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. to guide applicants through the process.
The foundation’s grant-selection team will prioritize proposals that clearly align with the key focus areas, use outcomes data to shape program development, serve high-needs schools and students, foster partnerships or collaboration, and adopt an asset-based approach that highlights the strengths and potential of students, families, schools, and communities.
This grant cycle forms part of GCF’s larger $150 million, 10-year strategic investment in education, housing, and community and cultural vibrancy. Through these grants, the foundation aims to partner with organizations to improve student outcomes and create lasting, equitable impact across Greater Cincinnati.
