Impact 100 awards $420K in grants to 6 local nonprofits

Impact 100 Cincinnati has awarded $420,000 in grants to six local nonprofits, funding bold community projects that span legal services, supportive housing, accessible playgrounds and summer enrichment programs.

Immigrant and Refugee Law Center (IRLC), Serenity Recovery Network, Ohio Valley Voices and Whole Again each received $100,000, while INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati and Project Yoga won $10,000 each as runners-up.

The winners were celebrated Thursday at a sold-out event at Cincinnati Music Hall, attended by members and guests. More details about the winners are available below.

“We congratulate each of our nonprofit recipients and look forward to seeing the considerable impact they will make with this infusion of funding,” said Impact 100 President Janet Collins.

Women leading the way

Collins noted that Impact 100’s membership of more than 400 women believe in “pooling their resources to make these awards possible.” She also invited the broader Greater Cincinnati community to view each organization’s “Wish List” on the Impact 100 website and donate items to support their work.

Like membership dollars, all funding goes directly to grant recipients unless otherwise stated.

“Together we are proud to support all of our nonprofit finalists,” Collins said.

$100,000 grant recipients

• Immigrant and Refugee Law Center (IRLC), Preventing deportation and family separation: Funding will ensure the viability of accessible legal services for Greater Cincinnati’s immigrant and refugee families and expand educational outreach through IRLC’s “Know Your Rights” program.
• Serenity Recovery Network, Supportive housing expansion: The grant will help renovate a newly acquired multi-family home into extended supportive housing with nine additional beds for women recovering from substance use disorders, ensuring continuity of care and access to essential services.
• Ohio Valley Voices, Accessible Playground and ‘accommodating our children’: Funding will build an innovative playground designed to remove barriers for children who are deaf or hard of hearing with multiple disabilities, providing a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Whole Again, summer food and enrichment program: The grant will support safe summer enrichment camps in low-income areas of Hamilton and Butler counties, providing nutritious meals and academic programming to reduce food insecurity and prevent summer learning loss.

$10,000 award recipients

• INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati, Empower IT program: Funding will expand outreach and leadership programming for students who might otherwise lack access to career paths in IT, supporting social and economic mobility.
• Project Yoga, Nama’Stay in School and Nama’Stay H.E.A.L.T.H.Y: The grant will allow certified instructors to bring trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and meditation programs to more than 2,500 additional underserved students across Ohio and Kentucky.
