Clifton Players challenge audiences to spot AI playwrights

Can you tell the difference between a play written by a human and one by artificial intelligence? The Clifton Players invite theatergoers to test their instincts with a new series of short plays running Nov. 7-23 in Northside.

The “Man vs. Machine” production features six original one-acts – four written by humans, including one by Pulitzer Prize finalist Lee Blessing, and two generated by AI. Audiences must decide which scripts came from people and which came from machines.

The writers’ identities will be revealed at the final performance on Nov. 23.

After each show at Liberty Exhibition Hall, the audience can join a discussion on whether AI belongs in the creative process and how its stories might shape the future of art.

“Man vs. Machine” is a collaboration between the Cincinnati-based Clifton Players and The Southern Theater Company of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Performances run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. at Liberty Exhibition Hall, 3938 Spring Grove Ave. For tickets and details, contact Kevin Crowley at cincykev@yahoo.com or 513-813-7469.
