Call for artists: Summerfair poster contest now open

Artists across Greater Cincinnati have a chance to leave their mark on one of the region’s longest-running arts traditions. Entries are now open for the annual Summerfair poster competition, which will set the official look for the 2026 art fair and showcase.

Returning to the former Coney Island site May 29–31, Summerfair ranks among the nation’s top fine arts and crafts festivals. The event, organized by the nonprofit Summerfair Cincinnati, features more than 300 artists from across the U.S. and Canada, along with live music, youth art activities and local food vendors.

For more than 50 years, the commemorative poster has served as Summerfair’s signature image – a collector’s favorite and the centerpiece of its annual marketing campaign. The winning artist will earn $3,000 and wide recognition throughout the festival’s promotions.

Entrants must be at least 18 and live within 75 miles of downtown Cincinnati. Designs can be in any medium, from oils and pastels to photography or digital art, and must be suitable for high-resolution digital reproduction.

Entries are due by Saturday, Jan. 9. More details are available at summerfair.org/poster-competition.
