Best Point celebrates opening of new West Side Childcare & Wellness Center

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health has opened the Western & Southern Childcare & Wellness Center, a two-story facility expanding early childhood education and therapeutic services for families on Cincinnati’s West Side.

The center, located on Westwood Northern Boulevard, will serve more than 200 children and families. It consolidates several Best Point programs, including the CoStars Early Education Center, Growing Stars Therapeutic Classroom, after-school care, the SPARK Early Literacy Program, counseling and behavioral support, and psychiatric and medical management services with an on-site pharmacy.

Officials said the park-like, eight-acre campus also will house Parent Cafés, the Family Success Network, home visiting programs, Camp-I-Can summer programming and assessment and intake services. The site also includes space for collaborative care, infant and toddler care and therapy services. It sits near Best Point’s existing CoStars Early Childhood facility.

“This new center represents what we can accomplish together to strengthen families and provide vital resources for children,” said John Banchy, president and CEO of Best Point Education & Behavioral Health.

Answering a call on Cincy’s West Side

The expansion builds on Best Point’s broader work providing education, behavioral and therapeutic health services and autism services for vulnerable and at-risk youth across Greater Cincinnati. The organization serves more than 18,000 children and families each year across 176 community locations – a number that climbed above 20,000 in the past year, according to its most recent annual report.

Those figures highlight the growing need for expanded space and services in the western part of the region.

To mark that impact, community partners and local leaders joined Best Point on Nov. 21 to celebrate the completion of the facility. The ribbon-cutting program featured elected officials, mental health and childcare providers and financial supporters, including John Barrett, president and CEO of Western & Southern Financial Group, and LaNora Godfrey, president and CEO of the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.

“It was a wonderful morning celebrating the incredible support from our partners and community,” Banchy said.
