OneSource Center CEO Brown to retire this summer

Christie Brown will retire this summer as CEO of OneSource Center for Nonprofit Excellence, concluding more than a decade leading the organization’s growth and expansion across Greater Cincinnati.

Brown, who joined OneSource Center in 2015, will step down July 31, according to the organization’s board of directors.

OneSource Center supports hundreds of nonprofit organizations each year through consulting, leadership training and access to donated goods and operational resources, helping organizations build stronger foundations and increase their impact.

During Brown’s tenure, the organization “significantly broadened its services to nonprofits, deepened partnerships with corporate and philanthropic leaders, and helped hundreds of nonprofit organizations strengthen their leadership, infrastructure, and community impact,” according to the board’s statement.

That period of growth included the formation of OneSource Center through the merger of ReSource and Executive Service Corps of Cincinnati, as well as the launch and expansion of the Nonprofit Leadership Institute. The organization also expanded access to donated goods and essential resources, helping nonprofits save millions in operational costs while strengthening leadership capacity across the sector.

“It has been an incredible privilege to work alongside so many passionate nonprofit leaders, volunteers, and community partners,” Brown said. “The work of nonprofits is essential to the strength of our community, and I am deeply proud of the role OneSource plays in helping these organizations thrive.”

The board will begin its search for the organization’s next CEO immediately, aiming to ensure a smooth transition and “continued momentum for its mission,” according to the organization’s chair, Rob Reifsnyder.

Brown will remain in her role through July 31, working with the board and staff to support the transition and onboard her successor.

OneSource Center hasn’t announced any additional leadership changes related to the transition.

“Christie’s leadership has positioned OneSource Center as a vital backbone organization for the nonprofit community,” Reifsnyder said. “OneSource Center is well positioned for its next chapter thanks to the growth and vision she has helped create.”
