The Flying Pig Marathon is staying on track after officials finalized new race routes tied to ongoing infrastructure changes.
Pig Works, the nonprofit behind the race, announced that the marathon’s full and half marathon courses are now officially certified following adjustments related to the demolition of Covington’s Fourth Street Bridge. The certification confirms both routes meet official distance standards, making them eligible for national rankings, records and Boston Marathon qualifying times.
Organizers stressed that the updated courses still deliver the signature Flying Pig experience across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, maintaining the race’s blend of challenge, scenery and neighborhood energy.
The certification also signals that final course maps are set, giving runners time to prepare and plan ahead of race weekend. Updated course maps for the 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon are now available online.
Flying Pig Marathon Weekend is May 1-3.
