United Way of Greater Cincinnati says it’s investing nearly $12.3 million in about 100 local organizations through its Community Partner Fund. The fund is part of a broader portfolio of funding opportunities it offers throughout the year to support innovative partnerships, emerging needs and community-driven initiatives.
This new funding will support community-based organizations that primarily serve low-income families and individuals across Greater Cincinnati. Their work centers on educational success, financial empowerment and housing security, which United Way describes as the building blocks of economic well-being.
The funding supports organizations providing direct services as well as long-term efforts aimed at creating systemic change. Recipients work in areas including early childhood education, youth mentoring, food assistance, housing support, legal aid and workforce development. Among them are 4C for Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati, Brighton Center, Freestore Foodbank, Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, Talbert House and Working In Neighborhoods.
“Many of our funded partners are meeting critical needs every day – helping families find stability, supporting children and older adults, and ensuring our neighbors have access to resources,” Moira Weir, UWGC’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
The announcement also highlighted several additional partners and funds, including the GE Aerospace Foundation Future of Manufacturing Fund, EY Take Action Fund, Project LIFT, the Public Policy & Advocacy Grant, the Faith & Community Fund and the Memorial Trust Fund.
“With others, we’re working together in new ways to identify and coordinate lasting solutions,” Weir continued. “By investing in both immediate support and long-term collaboration, we’re strengthening a network that empowers more people to achieve economic well-being.”
